Despite the success in increasing primary school enrolment worldwide, there is a significant drop-off in the transition to secondary school, particularly in Africa and South Asia. Access is substantially limited, particularly for adolescent girls and young women. Key reasons for low secondary enrolment and completion rates in many regions include: low physical access to schools, costs of school fees, poor quality, and perceived irrelevance of schooling to earning prospects. There are opportunities to enable school leavers to access learning opportunities.
Our program seeks to develop innovative ways for youth to access market-relevant skills and education by:
- Providing comprehensive scholarships and mentoring
- Developing market relevant skills
- Facilitating technology enabled learning
